@kingwls He was so emotional because the guy he was fighting (antoni hardonk) and him used to train together under Ernesto Hoost, theres story’s of how Hardonk used to bully barry around in practice and they both competed for the attention of Ernesto Hoost, so when barry beat Hardonk to him that meant everything.
love this guy, tough as nails and funny, always show respect and allways brings it fight time. great for the sport and allways an excieting fighter.keep it up
big repect hd barry!!
Met the guy today in Zagreb…what a cool guy! And my siblings say: “I’m sorry, I don’t know who you are…” And he waves his hand and says: “Just a guy named Barry!”
i knew pat when he was “the pizza man” barry and i must say hes always been a great and humble man in fact he was my cornerman at one of my fights and he did nothin but offer words of encouragement. ive learned alot from him and he was a great inspiration. in this vid from 4:41-45 he was actually in the liu institute studio here in mobile where i use to train. really great guy and i know hes gonna go far in the sport.
@kanguesso I referred to it that way to imply that it has started to become a style. Many martial arts are mixtures of others, for example Hap Ki Do(Ho Shin Do Federation): A mixture of Hwa Soo Do, Judo, and many Northern Kung Fu styles. So you see, “MMA” is a rather silly term in the world of martial arts. But anyway. I too apologize.
@xXBurstGamerXx Yes, he is a kick boxer at heart, that’s his background. But i was simply referring to the fact that you seemed to imply that MMA in and of itself was a “fighting style”. There are plenty of fighters who fight like Barry does, Rampage Jackson for one, uses mainly his boxing when he fights, Chuck Liddell used his stand up only also. But i am sorry for the misunderstanding or confusion.
@kanguesso You tell me this like I don’t know. But regardless of this, when someone says “I’m into MMA.” typically the first thought that comes to mind is UFC’s style, which has a solid ground foundation. But you miss my point. He’s using kickboxing. That’s all he’s using. Not “MMA.” In all of the clips, he’s fighting the exact same way. He isn’t mixing any martial art.
@xXBurstGamerXx When you say, “It’s good to see different styles besides MMA”, it makes you sound stupid because “MMA” is the very definition of DIFFERENT STYLES OF MARTIAL ARTS COMING TOGETHER TO FORM THE SPORT. MMA is not a style or a martial art discipline as much as you want it to be, it is ANY combination of 2 or more different arts. You don’t have to know BJJ, Wrestling or Judo, YOU JUST HAVE TO BE A MIXED MARTIAL ARTIST. Any style that works for you, WORKS FOR YOU.
